To inspire children to express their creativity through video production

Vision

To organize and stage the annual Reel Spirit Showcase for Young Filmmakers as a premier venue that:

encourages initiative and creativity in children through film and video production
provides young filmmakers an authentic audience
recognizes outstanding achievement in film and video production by children in grades two through eight

Goals

To establish an ongoing financial structure to support the mission and vision

Communicate the mission and vision with targeted audience and participants

Organize and stage the recognition event

Reel Spirit Young Filmmaker Showcase

The Reel Spirit Young Filmmaker Showcase is presented annually in cooperation with Kansas City FilmFest.

The 2010 Reel Spirit Young Filmmaker Showcase Awards were presented on April 17, 2010.

Time Warner Cable digital customers can now watch the top 10 films of the 2010 Reel Spirit Young Filmmaker Showcase on KC On Demand, Channel 113. Just select the "Community" category and then "Reel Spirit." You can watch the films any time and they are free. And only on Time Warner Cable.

The 2009 Reel Spirit Young Filmmaker Showcase Awards were presented on Saturday, April 25, 2009.

The 2008 Awards were presented on Saturday, September 6, 2008.

The 2007 Awards were presented on Saturday, October 20, 2007.
